Lord Mayors Show 2018

The Association ran a very successful entry in the Lord Mayor's Show 2018 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the first women to be granted franchise (in 1918 - full female suffrage in the UK was not until 1928). Whilst women had not as such been banned from voting till the 1832 Reform Act and the Municipal Corporations Act 1835, women's suffrage did not become a national movement until 1872. Many men helped in this movement. The entrants in our float were mainly but not entirely from the livery, including many Masters and former Masters and also other women of significance in the City.
